Newsletter - November 22-23

Thanksgiving is such a wonderful holiday.  We say thank you for the blessings in life and share a meal with those we love.  Though we should have the spirit of gratitude and thankfulness all year round, the holiday reminds us to slow down and express those feelings.

One thing that I know your child is thankful for is no homework the week of thanksgiving...no homework and no tests!  Use the evenings spending quality time with each other around the dinner table, doing something other than studying!

My gratitude list is very long and I could go on for days.  I want each of you to know that I am so thankful for this school and that I have the opportunity to be a part of FBA.  I am thankful for each of your children and the very special bond that I share with each of them.  I love them dearly!

I look forward to seeing you next week at our Thanksgiving feast, Tuesday at 11:15.  We have an activity planned for you and your child before we eat.    As our blessing for our feast, your child will say his or her blessing that you have been practicing in Spanish.

Happy Thanksgiving,
Mrs. Hodges

A Thanksgiving Day Prayer

Lord, so often times, as any other day
When we sit down to our meal and pray

We hurry along and make fast the blessing
Thanks, amen. Now please pass the dressing

We're slaves to the olfactory overload
We must rush our prayer before the food gets cold

But Lord, I'd like to take a few minutes more
To really give thanks to what I'm thankful for

For my family, my health, a nice soft bed
My friends, my freedom, a roof over my head

I'm thankful right now to be surrounded by those
Whose lives touch me more than they'll ever possibly know

Thankful Lord, that You've blessed me beyond measure
Thankful that in my heart lives life's greatest treasure

That You, dear Jesus, reside in that place
And I'm ever so grateful for Your unending grace

So please, heavenly Father, bless this food You've provided
And bless each and every person invited

Amen!
